The purest of pursuits

This one-sentence, written so long ago, sums up what hope represents to me.

It is amazing that we were granted the right to pursue equality and dignity just as we were granted the right to pursue a hopeful, peaceful and happy life.

The pursuit isn’t a guarantee that you will find Happiness.

That it is a right doesn’t guarantee it either.

That part is up to you. As I have written about before, it is all about choice and recognizing that it is about every moment of our lives, big and small. It is on this journey, this pursuit where all the learning and growth and even fun takes place.

And that is happiness.

So, as the fireworks go off, the barbeques are finished, I invite you to make a new choice and to take the journey with me.

Let’s one and all work to be not only a more thoughtful and hopeful nation, but a happier nation as well.
